Dona Lisa Buschmann began her career as a financial planner. Two years later, she switched from stocks and bonds to surety bonds and never looked back. In 2008, along with Joel Buschmann and Robert Laux, Dona Lisa started her own agency which was acquired by Bender Insurance Solutions in 2017. With 30+ years of surety experience, her book of business includes general contractors, specialty contractors, developers, plus some miscellaneous non-contract accounts. Dona Lisa believes some of the biggest benefits to her clients are guidance, relationship-building, and ultimately, maximization of their surety credit.
Active in the industry, Dona Lisa helped develop the first ACORD Surety Standards and remains an advocate for their implementation. She actively serves in both Sacramento and Northern Nevada Chapters of CFMA, Associated General Contractors of Nevada, and National Association of Women in Construction. Dona Lisa also serves as a member of the Liberty Mutual Surety Producer Advisory Board.
